Description of the experiment
Chemiluminescence of Lucigenin

Two solutions are prepared:
Solution A 0.1 g of Lucigenin (commercially available e.g. from Aldrich) in 50 ml of ethanol and 50 ml of water.
Solution B: 8 g of NaOH in 70 ml of water and 5 ml of 1.5% H2O2-Solution
(Attention: Solution B is stable only for a short period)
In a dark room, the freshly prepared solution A is added to solution B. A bright yellow-green light can be observed, which changes later its color to light blue. Addition of sodium hydroxide solution and H2O2 refreshes the light for a short period.
