7. Formation of pyrimidinthiones (Chemistry of carbon subsulfide III)
Stadlbauer W., Kappe Th., Ziegler E., Z. Naturforsch. 33b, 89-93 (1978)

Abstract: Carbon subsulfide reacts with 2-aminopyridine 1a and N-phenylbenzamidine 1b to yield the corresponding higher fused dervatives 4 and 7. Attempts to obtain mesoionic compounds by reaction of N-substituted 2-aminopyridines or N.N'-disubstituted benzamidines were not successful. Efforts to yield a pyrimidinethione derivative by reaction with ß-aminocrotonate 1e failed. In this case the sulfur-bridged compound 8 could be obtained.
